One of my favourite planets. It is sensitive to the future with high levels of creativity (sometimes crazy) which usually has a damaging effect as breaks your routine up.
As all the astrological planets, there is a mythology behind each of them. Uranus in Greek means “atmosphere, air or the sky”. That’s why its connection with the astrology. Even I must say astrology is very uranian on its essence because each sign has different dimensions which involves changes or enlightenment. I believe all pro-astrologers are directly affected by either Pluto, Neptune or Uranus because astrology is feed by these transpersonal planets.
When Uranus is transiting, it’s usually quite though to go through. It pushes us from the comfort zone which commonly involves breaking up something or with someone. It generates anxiety and nervousness so when Uranus is transiting any planet, it always breaks your status quo and changes your way of thinking. It’s very hard to go through specially those values which are important for you. However it shows you the real truth instead: some examples might be you finding your wife cheating, you discover your neighbour is stealing your WIFI, your brother has been withdrawing money from your parent’s bank accounts. Do you see what I mean? A painful discovery.
When Uranus is transiting over your natal Saturn is usually the most harmful transit because it takes the longest time-wise speaking. Not only because the universal speed of both of them but the feeling of the unbearable pain which seems like the “Time seems to slowing down”. People through this transit never want to accept the new reality. Saturn is a very structured planet following traditions and institutions, so just imagine how influences your life.
Another example is Uranus transiting Taurus: Taurus is visceral, what we eat for example. So Uranus in Taurus makes you questioning if you should eat differently, maybe becoming vegetarian or eating with healthier cooking methods. We had Uranus transiting Taurus during the last century: the invention of the combine harvester changed the traditional harvesting methods used during centuries for instance. I believe once Uranus transits Taurus again, we’re going to be asked to eat less meat or starting eating insects. There is still something going on but it won’t be established till 2030.
On the other hand, when Uranus is transiting inner planets or personal planets, amoral decisions are taken. Quite radical I must say. This means that Uranus is unconcerned with the rightness or wrongness of something. If we compare it with Mercury, this is amoral per se, however I would say that Uranus is much more than the little one. Note Mercury is transiting faster than Uranus hence amoral decision rarely take place when Mercury is transiting: it develops as an idea in your mind but eventually the person states “What the hell I’m thinking? Let’s not do this? Why am I going to complicate my life?” but never turns into reality or action. On the opposite we have the danger of Uranus where amoral ideas take place and happen: your thoughts turns into reality.
However the interesting thing about Uranus is that the painful reality puts you in place, even if it seems quite hard to deal with, then you realise it had to happen afterwards. It was a healing process somehow. For example: “Glad I didn’t get married with my girlfriend who I caught cheating on me”; “That depressive episode of my life made me enjoy my life now”. Somehow Uranus makes you discover what the real meaning of GRATITUDE is, don’t you think?
Uranus rules Aquarius and Pisces: social signs. When you see Uranus on the 1st House usually fights for human’s rights. There is usually lack of selfishness on this person and you commonly see them on demonstrations against the government, wars, human’s rights. Leading these demonstrations I would say.
We all have some uranian crisis during our lifetime. It takes 84 years travelling around your chart. Therefore it is lightened by the Sun during 42 years and darkened during the other 42. They suppose a rebellious crisis and painful when darkened:
The first one happens at 21st when studying at university but not 100% sure you want to make a career on this field and you question yourself if this is what you really want to do or not. We want to be productive and do plenty of things or living faster. If Uranus is strong on your 10th House, you’ll quit. The second crisis happens at the ages of 41-42, a famous crisis where we review our life: depression is commonly diagnosed at this age if no changes happen in life: couples get divorced at this ages if Uranus is strong at your 7th. The “last” one usually happens at 62-63 years old where you question yourself if you want to keep doing the same as you’ve been doing so far. I believe if people would get retired at the age of 62-63, less post-retirement depression would be diagnosed as they’re more prepared for realization or know what to do. If you live enough, then the last Uranus returning transit happens at the age of 84 when you free yourself from life or what we know as we die.
Interestingly, Uranus is colder than Neptune which doesn’t make sense as it is located farther than Uranus and Science can’t explain it yet. That’s why colder means that Uranus shows “detachment” so Uranus pushes you to change no matter how much suffering cause you. Uranus is definitely less sensitive than Saturn. Uranus (and Pluto) manifest violent and clear changes because the energies are hardly processed by our psyche and accepted by our ego. When we’re born under a Sun conjunction Uranus, you suddenly discover Uranus controls your conscious and life’s goal: you can’t simulate it then you project it out by saying “the others are so radical while I’m a conservative and traditional”. Quite contradictory isn’t it?
For example, Donald Trump is a clear example: a Gemini with Sun conjunction Uranus. He projects Uranus through others: others are the “bad men” being very radical and looking forward to get the perfection. Hitler also had Uranus in the 1st House. What a coincidence.
Uranian people with Venus conjunction Uranus usually don’t get married because they don’t believe on relationships. They’re also very pessimistic. Or they think “How can they get married with one person only?”. It applies to friendships too. They’re so afraid of breaking-up that find alternative’s ways of living: either they get married but sleeping on different bedrooms, friendships that don’t become deep relationships (e.g we meet every now and then to go to the cinema but we’ve ever being on each other houses. Don’t know where you live after all these years of friendship…). Etc. Pilots or Sales people are uranian people as they work out doing business trips and once they come back home from holidays or they retire, they get divorced after a few days or weeks. Covid-19 isolation brought so many divorces from Uranian people.
It is very difficult to live under natal Uranus conjunction X. However it is possible to learn how to live with this conjunction, only if the person is aware of it. Awareness of this conjunction is the first pathway to live with it.
Professionally speaking, uranian people can’t work under routine. They shouldn’t otherwise they might get crazy. That’s why 99% of people with natal Uranus on the 6th or 10th house are commonly freelancers, self-employed or Project Managers.
